Today's card is a very simple one. It wasn't the look I was going for, but it will do :) Today was the last day of school and the principal announced she has accepted a new position at a different school. The kids were so sad that she won't be there in the Fall when they return. She's an awesome lady and will be missed by everyone.

Happy Birthday Hilda!

Today is my sister's birthday and here are 2 more cards I made for her...didn't like any of the ones I previously made, so I made another, then another, then another, etc. and then ended up choosing 3 for her. It's difficult to make her a card, because she spends a great deal of time, thought and effort every year on mine.

I think she's going to love this one and I cased it from Dawn Griffith and changed the colors and added Champagne Shimmer Mist, which really made the card shine, but you can't really see it in the photo:

A month before her birthday my sister began asking what her card was going to look like, knowing I haven't made it yet and she knows I'll  wait until the last minute.  I struggle with it every year and  I always think none of them ever seem good enough compared to hers. She's the talent in the family! She's also my up-line and I couldn't do any of  this without her. She's the reason I joined Stampin Up. For years I said no, no , no, to card making, because I was already addicted to scrapbooking. Then she taught me how to make these little note cards and boxes . ..I was hooked. 

Love you Sis! Yes, your gifts are in the mail....one from Stampin Up and the remaining are  items I made for you and all of it will be late : )

Update: thank you for all the kind comments. I have received a lot of questions on how to make the flowers. My sister taught me, but this afternoon I found a video by Dawn Olchefske and she made the most gorgeous pansies using the Butterfly punch. You'll want to visit her site...her flowers are much prettier than mine!

Pumpkin Pie isn't just for Thanksgiving anymore : ) I love the way it looks on Whisper White...don't you? It's not as bright as Only Orange. I'm making several of these for another card swap. I keep making flowers for my cards these days...I'm so ready for Spring! I cased the idea, from Mary Fish, using a stamp from the Circle Circus for the center of the flower and popped it up with a dimensional.
